A sad day on the farm

It has been a difficult few days here at Snoozing Dogs Farm. For the first time in seventeen years, there’s not a dog on the farm to snooze. Our beloved Cassie crossed the rainbow bridge on Saturday, Oct 17. She had been with us for five years, following her adoption from the Denver Dumb Friends League. Cassie was one of those dogs that always seemed to know what you needed. She was attuned to the emotional health of her humans and was always there to just sit with you when you needed a warm hug or to celebrate a major achievement. Her brother dog, Bandit, went ahead of her in August 2014 after a long bout with cancer. We decided to hold off on getting a new dog for a while, as Cassie seemed to really appreciate being the center of attention. Of course, that leaves us with a huge hole in our hearts now that she’s gone.    Photo from Lisa Turner Photography
